I feel truly blessed to be teaching the children of Steuart W. Weller Elementary. It is my honor to empower students to reach and exceed their academic goals while also showing students their importance in our class community, the Garden. I have recently moved to Virginia with my family, which includes my husband, my three children Shelby 20, Sophia 15, and Jack 12. My family along with my two dogs are the cornerstone of my life. We have many journeys and stories to share.
In Texas I earned my degree in Education with a specialization in Biology from the University of North Texas. I received my certification in both Virginia and Texas in Early Childhood Education and English as a Second Language. I am beginning my 16 year teaching with 13 years in first grade and 2 years teaching preschool aged students at a Reggio preschool. My greatest accomplishments as a teacher are my students. I recognize my students for who they are and who they can be. I convince them with a soft voice and a lot of joy that they can achieve their dreams. My students have so much to offer the world and l show them the world is waiting for them. I am so excited to welcome in the newest children to the Garden.
This is my
second year teaching in Loudoun County, and my first year at Steuart
Weller. I am so excited to be a part of
this fabulous Wildcat Team! My family
and I just recently made the move to Virginia from Southern California. Prior to coming to Loudoun County I taught
grades 3 – 5 for 12 years in Murrieta, CA.
I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University San
Marcos with a concentration in literature.
I have two children who are both involved in a lot of activities, so I
spend a lot of my time cheering on the sidelines at various sports and
gymnastics events. I also love to
travel, read, hike, and explore new places.
I’m looking forward to a great year at Steuart Weller!
This will be my second year teaching 4th grade at Steuart Weller, and I absolutely love this grade level! I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Wildcat family. I graduated from James Madison University with my Masters of Arts in Teaching. I also did my undergrad at JMU and earned a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. GO DUKES! In my free time, I love to travel, paint, cook, and spend as much time with my adorable puppy as possible.
