Reading at Rosa Lee Carter

Sandra Harvey

I have been teaching in Loudoun County for over 15 years. I earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Reading from State University of New York College at Fredonia. During my time in Loudoun County, I have taught first grade in addition to Title I Reading. It  is pleasure to be a member of the Rosa Lee Carter family and I am looking forward to helping students become successful life-long readers.

Sarah Brewer

I am a native upstate New York who moved to northern Virginia after earning my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA in 2004. While I was a classroom teacher, I realized that there was so much more to learn about teaching, especially reading and writing. In 2013, I graduated from George Mason University with a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction along with a Reading endorsement. I am absolutely thrilled to become a Rosa Lee Carter Coyote this school year! I have worked with children of all ages but spent most of my time as a kindergarten and second grade teacher at Cedar Lane Elementary School. I will begin my tenth year of teaching in LCPS as your reading specialist to support staff and students with reading and writing initiatives. I look forward to sharing my love of literacy with the students, staff and families here at Rosa Lee Carter.
