As the new Principal of Rosa Lee Carter Elementary, it is my sincere pleasure and honor to become a member of this great school, and community. Rosa Lee Carter enjoys a rich history of academic and cultural excellence that is the result of a collegial partnership between the school staff and parents who provide a diversity of experiences for the students. I am truly honored to be appointed to this position and am looking forward to working with the dedicated staff to provide the best possible educational program for our students.
My professional career began over 20 years ago in Charleston, West Virginia. I had the pleasure of teaching and leading staff members of Kanawha County Schools and have brought these rich experiences with me to Northern Virginia. The last four years in Loudoun County have been quite fruitful. I quickly transitioned from teacher to administrator and am now honored to be your new principal.
As I make this transition, I am aware of the anticipation and eagerness that accompanies new leadership in any organization. I know that change can provoke both excitement and anxiety. It is my goal to spend my first several months learning about our school and all of its stakeholders. I eagerly anticipate reconnecting with the Rosa Lee Carter community and learning about your hopes and dreams for our school.
My goal as your principal is to cultivate a learning community where all students will grow in knowledge, teachers will actively engage students in learning, and parents are seen as valued partners in their child’s education.
I am excited about Rosa Lee Carter’s future and look forward to meeting each and every one of you. Your connection to our school is imperative for our success. Should you have any comments, questions or concerns, please know I am here to have that dialogue with you. Again, I'm privileged and honored to have this professional opportunity.
