Meet the Assistant Principal / Overview

Meet Ms. Waldbaum

Greetings Salamanders! My name is Lisa Waldbaum, your Assistant Principal at Sycolin Creek Elementary. Before joining the Sycolin Creek team in February 2010, I served as the Administrative Intern at Mill Run Elementary School. From 2005 to 2009, I served as the primary Speech Language Pathologist and member of the school’s leadership team at Dominion Trail Elementary in Ashburn. Before moving to Loudoun County in 2005, I was an instructor and clinical supervisor at Old Dominion Univeristy. I have undergraduate and graduate degrees in Speech Language Pathology from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. In December 2009, I received my second graduate degree in Educational Leadership from George Mason University.

I believe that effective teaching and leadership involves working together as a team. The entire school staff with whom our students encounter…. whether in the classroom, office, cafeteria, or hallway; contribute to the daily learning experiences of our students. A staff that works together as a team creates a culture of shared successes and a desire to learn from challenges. It is an honor to be part of the Sycolin Creek team and I look forward to working with the staff, students, parents, and community!
