My name is Violet Henry. I am beginning my eleventh year at LCPS and my twenty-first year as a teacher in Virginia. I graduated from Columbia Union College. I began my career teaching 5th grade in the general education classroom. I continued my education and obtained a Master of Arts in Special Education from George Mason University. In addition, I earned graduate certificates for Computer Integration into the Classroom and Teaching Students with Autism from George Mason University.
It is my educational philosophy that all students have the ability to learn and grow, regardless of their age, religion, race, economic status, or disability. Through out my twenty years as a certified teacher and a life time of working with children (I have three brothers and four sisters) I have yet to meet a child who could not learn. It is my challenge to discover the learning style of each of my students and develop ways to assist them in learning. Thank you for giving me this opportunity.
I live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in a very rural area. I have two Husky friends and a cat who fill my life with love and joy. When I am not tending to them I enjoy music, reading, gardening, visiting family, and taking in the great outdoors.
The school year 2015 - 2016 promises to be an exciting year and I am looking forward to working with you and your children.
