Hello Fellow Pinebrook Pumas! I am Daryl Rodgers, the assistant principal. I will be working closely with Mr. Thiessen and Mr. Cramer to support the school's mission of making today’s learners tomorrow’s leaders! I am honored to be a part of this very active and accomplished school community.
I came to Virginia from New York, where I earned my Bachelor and Master's degrees in Elementary and Special Education. I worked as a second grade classroom and special education teacher for grades K-5 over the past 16 years in the county. Prior to coming to Pinebrook, I worked at Catoctin, Hillside, and Steuart Weller Elementary Schools. Seeking professional advancement and new challenges, I completed Shenandoah University's graduate program in educational leadership and passed the state licensure exam in June 2010.
My husband and I live in Ashburn. We have two children, Jake and Sarah, and two boxers, Zeus and Kleio. Our son, Jake, graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in May 2012, and our daughter, Sarah, is a sophomore at Virginia Commonwealth University. Our extended family (54 and counting!) is in very close proximity, so you can find us on the weekends gathering to cook, eat, play, and cheer our beloved New York Giants during football season!!!
I am excited to have the opportunity to serve the Pinebrook students and families and look forward to working with you and your children during the course of the year! My door is always open, so drop by and say “Hello”!!
