I am very excited and happy to be joining the Newton-Lee School community, home of the Explorers! My name is Tricia Ulbrich and I am beginning my 27th year in education and I still LOVE what I do! I can’t wait to begin my next journey here, at Newton-Lee! I have taught in eight different elementary schools in Loudoun County and been a Summer School Principal for ten consecutive summers. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia and received my Master's in Educational Leadership from George Mason University.
I am married and have two beautiful daughters. My youngest daughter, Alison, is a senior at James Madison University, majoring in Elementary Education. My oldest daughter, Candice, is a professional ballerina and lives in Atlanta, Georgia. My husband, Alan, is a civil engineer with Dewberry Engineering. We live in Purcellville with our four pound Yorkie, Tad.
As I reflect on the practices that most influence me as an educator, I believe that in a great school the administration has the highest expectation for precise yet creative instruction and authentic assessment, as well as a working knowledge of the latest technology. I am convinced that collective teacher efficacy is the most important element of the culture of confidence, competence, caring, and commitment that permeates the school. Great schools hire educators who strive each and every day to make the best decisions for the children of that school. Equally important, is mutual trust and cooperation between the parents and the school. Regardless of socioeconomic status, race, or ethnicity, parents recognize an excellent school and appreciate a leadership team that provides the very best teachers for their children and always places the best interest of the children first and foremost. As a part of the administrative team at Newton-Lee, I will work hard to maintain the great school Newton-Lee currently is and will keep striving for improvement each and every day! I look forward to an amazing year! Please feel free to contact me anytime at email@example.com.
