Technology integration provides exciting learning opportunities
for our students and teachers.
Each grade level has a cart of 30 Dell laptops. Each classroom contains a laptop that is configured for AV use and includes a DVD player, CD burner and connection to the Promethean board as well as an HP 6940 Deskjet Printer. All classrooms and several other rooms have an installed Promethean interactive white board.
Our Computer Lab contains 36 Dell Laptops, an HP LaserJet 4200 black printer, an HP Color LaserJet Printer, and two Scanners. Teachers and students are also able to utilize the Promethean board and Computer Workstation in the lab. We also have 8 Intel QX5 Digital Microscopes, and digital cameras, and video cameras. Our school has Promethean Boards and document cameras for all classrooms.
40 Teachers have school provided iPads for use in the classroom and we have one cart of 20 student iPads with many apps installed.
Students at Tolbert have access to a full complement of productivity tools including Microsoft Office, and Inspiration as well as ReadWriteGold, Internet Explorer/Chrome; Pixie3, Neighborhood MapMachine, and Google Earth.
The technology resource teacher provides school-based professional development for teachers including application training, research-based integration sessions, study groups, and other training opportunities.
