What is a Parent Liaison?

The Parent Liaison is a school representative who acts as an advocate for parents and families. The primary role of the Parent Liaison is to empower parents to become active participants in the education of their children. The Parent Liaison helps parents get the information and support they need to help their children be successful in school, both academically and socially. In addition, the Parent Liaison acts as a resource to parents in providing information about community resources to help them find where they might need to go for help.

Some services your Parent Liaison can provide:

* Personal tour of the school.

* Interpreter arrangements.

* Connect parents to Parent Resource Center.

* Aid in parent involvement at school.

* Explain school programs and procedures.
