Welcome to Third Grade
Mr. Jim Alexander
Mr. Alexander graduated from SUNY Oneonta with both his BS and MS in Elementary Education, and completed his Certificate in Education Administration at Shenandoah University. This is his nineteenth year teaching and fourth in third grade at FHR after two years as a fifth grade teacher and Administrative Intern. He previously taught fifth grade at Lovettsville Elementary for seven years, third and fifth grade at Potowmack Elementary for three years, and fourth grade in Manassas Park for another three. Mr. Alexander is also certified in K-12 Health and PE, and coached varsity cross-country and soccer. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, exercising, and cheering on his favorite New York teams. Mr. Alexander is very excited about the upcoming school year, and looks forward to working with the students and parents of the third grade.
Mrs. Heather Connally
The 2016-2017 school year is Mrs. Connally's eleventh year teaching at FHR. She is looking forward to another great year in third grade. Mrs. Connally is a graduate of Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV. She enjoys spending time with her husband Dan, son Michael, and puppy Rex!
Ms. Gottschalk graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a dual degree in elementary and special education. She completed graduate work in special education at San Diego State University. She taught two years in New York state, thirteen years in California, and has been teaching in Loudoun County since 2005. She is excited to begin another great year at FHR!
Mrs. Genevieve Miller
Ms. Tomlinson is so excited to begin the school year at FHR! Ms. Tomlinson earned her Masters in the Art of Teaching from James Madison University. She has been teaching third grade for three years and is looking forward to her fourth year! Ms. Tomlinson loves to read mystery books, cook delicious meals, and hike Virginia trails. She is looking forward to meeting her fabulous new third graders!
Ms. Meredith Turner
Ms. Turner is a Loudoun County native and Broad Run High School graduate where she was a teacher cadet. She went on to become a pirate at East Carolina University in NC where she received her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. Ms. Turner loves dogs, especially her black lab Maggie Mae, going to the beach, tons of outdoor activities, and cheering on her ECU Pirates and all the local Washington D.C. sports teams! Ms. Turner is very excited to join the third grade team at FHR during her inaugural year of teaching and looks forward to getting to know her new third graders!
