Meet the Team!
Mrs. Tharp is a native of Loudoun County and a graduate of Loudoun County High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from George Mason University in 2009. In 2011, she earned a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. This will be Miss Goyne's fifth year teaching in Loudoun County. In her free time, she loves to go to the beach and take her Siberian Huskies, Deacon and Opie, on walks. In addition, she enjoys cheering on the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Redskins! Miss Goyne looks forward to working with your children and having a fabulous 2014-2015 school year at Evergreen Mill Elementary!
Mrs. Backus is excited to teach the ECSE PM Pre K class again this year! A native Floridian, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, her home town. As a former military spouse, she lived in many different places, including Texas, where she earned a Master of Education in Psychology at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She has been fortunate enough to teach in a variety of settings, from Pre K to college level, and is thrilled to join the Evergreen Mill Team! Mrs Backus and her husband Clark have two children , Kyle, a 7th grader at Simpson Middle school and Sara, a Freshman in the Shenandoah University School of Acting, and Chloe their yellow Lab. In her free time, Mrs. Backus enjoys teaching yoga at a local yoga studio in Leesburg and reading mysteries.
