The great pumpkin off is an event that will benefit the SGA and the entire school. Not only are we raising money for SGA, I intend to use a lot of the money we raise this year to fully fund all after school activities next year. The rules of the pumpkin off are simple. Meet with your IDT team or department-if you're electives, and this includes world languages, the library, and resource. Come up with a design for a pumpkin. Make sure there is nothing identifying on your pumpkin about who craved it or what team it is for. Next week I will have a pumpkin in the building for every team to carve. You can carve one at home on your own or you can carve one during your meeting. Carved pumpkins are due to the Cafeteria by Monday, Oct. 27. Please make sure you totally gut the pumpkin and place a gallon sized Ziploc baggie in the pumpkin. Kids will vote for their favorite pumpkin by putting in spare change they have left over from lunch in the pumpkins. The winning team will get a title belt, ridiculously huge trophy, and another prize to be determined.

7th grade students: Reminder; tomorrow and Friday you will be having vision and hearing testing done here at school.  If you wear glasses please bring them to the testing site.

  • Individuals with Learning Disabilities are often average or above average students with a weakness in one or more of the following areas: speaking, listening, thinking, reading, writing, spelling and/or computing. Learning Disabilities are life-long and cannot be cured however; individuals with learning disabilities work hard and utilize strategies so you may not know if a person has a learning disability.        Here is a statistic...41% of individuals identified as having a disability are identified as Learning  Disabled. That means that of all the students at Stone Hill identified with disabilities, 50 or more of  those students are identified as Learning Disabled.

On September 17, 1787, 39 brave delegates to the Constitutional Convention met for the last time to sign the document they had created, the Constitution.  This document changed the course of history.

Thus, September 17th is “Constitution Day” and is celebrated as the birth of the United States.  Happy Birthday America!!!

Constitution Day is used to continue the delegates’ legacy and to develop habits of citizenship in a new generation of Americans.

Today in Social Studies classes, information about this historic event will be shared and critical thinking questions such as, What does freedom mean to you will be posed.

7th and 8th graders:  Would you like to go to Florida spring break and swim with the dolphins and much more?  Invite your parents to come to the informational meeting with Mrs. Duquette before and after back to school night!  That's this Wed., at 6pm or 8:30pm.  Thank you!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at our Back to School Night for 7th and 8th Grade Parents this evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Parents, please have your student write down his/her entire schedule for you to follow.  We will have a bell schedule for you to follow similar to your student’s schedule.  During each block you can expect to hear the expectations of the class as well as an explanation of what your student will learn throughout the year.  Should you wish to meet with the teacher to discuss private issues, we recommend you send an email to schedule a time to discuss the situation.

During your student’s resource or any other free time you have, we encourage you to stop by Computer Lab 1 to order a yearbook for your student.  We would also like to invite you to take advantage of the Scholastic Book Fair going on in the Library/Media Center.

Because we will operate on a time schedule this evening, it will be important for you to be here before 6:30 p.m. so that you can meet each of your child’s teachers.

Spectrum Meeting:  The Spectrum meeting will take place in the Library from 5:45-6:30pm.

We look forward to seeing you tonight!
