Welcome to the Briar Woods Social Studies home page.  Clicking on a teacher's name will direct you to their home page.  Curriculum guides for each course can be found by clicking on that course on the table, and you can contact the teacher by clicking on their e-mail link.
A tentative syllabus for the dual enrollment African History course  is available in the link to the left, along with other information on scheduling.  The file has possible tracks for students with different goals, although there are numerous other options that are not shown.  One key aspect is that for all students in the class of 2016 and later are required to have one semester of Financial Literacy and at least one semester of Economics.  The latter requirement can be met by either the semester elective course or the year-long AP Economics course, or potentially through an online option that the county expects to implement in the fall.  Scheduling questions should be directed to the Guidance Department, and additional information about individual courses can be found in the Program of Studies on the LCPS website.
