Celio VAME Marketing Teacher of the Year for Virginia
Donna Celio, the chair of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department at Stone Bridge High School, was named the Virginia Association of Marketing Educators (VAME) Teacher of Year for 2007-2008 on August 5th at the VAME annual summer conference in Virginia Beach.
This designation carries with it a $250 award from Johnson & Wales University.
Celio has been a marketing teacher/coordinator in Loudoun County for 14 years as well as a member of the inaugural staff at Stone Bridge. She is DECA advisor and teaches the marketing and advanced marketing classes. Celio previously taught marketing at Broad Run High School for six years.
Celio received an undergraduate degree in marketing management from Virginia Tech. After graduating college, she worked as a co-manager at The Limited in Roanoke; selling advertising at a business-to-business publication in Greensboro, N.C.; and as a customer service representative at an employment agency in Hampton.
Career and Technical Education offers a variety of programs to help equip students with work and life skills.
Students in grades 6-12 may explore career options and develop occupational skills through vocational offerings at their home schools and at Monroe Technology Center

Career and Technical Education is a springboard to immediate employment for many high school students and helps youngsters prepare for college and other postsecondary education.
Many adults also participate in career and technical education programs (See Adult Education).
