My name is Karla Blásquez and it is a privilege for me to be the Parent Liaison here at Sterling Middle School. This is my third year working as a Parent Liaison, but my second in Sterling Middle. I have served as an interpreter for Loudoun County for more than10 years and have had the pleasure of working with many families along the way. I come from Xalapa, Veracruz in the South of Mexico. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and a Masters in Technology Education. I am a parent of two students in Loudoun County Public Schools. I am emphatic and understanding to parents needs and I would like to reach out as much as I can to make your family feel welcomed, informed, and taken care of in a positive and warm way. I enjoy building long lasting relationships with students and their families. When parents and schools work together, there is a bigger chance for the students to succeed academically. I find this job to be very fulfilling and hopefully I can serve you in a positive way. My main role is to bridge the gap between home and school. If I can help you in any way to facilitate school-home communication, connect your family with community resources, or help you in any way with school transitions, please let me know. I am here Monday through Thursday from 9 to 2 pm. You can contact me via e-mail too at: Karla.Blasquez@lcps.org. If you need a Spanish interpreter, I will be happy to translate for you. However, If you need an interpreter for any other language, I can arrange that for you as well.
