·         Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Tennis team for a 6-3 victory over Woodgrove.  The Vikings won 4 singles matches and 2 doubles matches to bring home the win!

·         Congrats to Varsity Girls Lacrosse on their 7-6 win against Dominion last night!  Way to go ladies!

·         Students, do you enjoy working with your hands, making and fixing things, and being able to visually see the results of your hard work?  Then attend Apprenticeship Night on Tuesday, April 21st, at 7:00 in the Heritage High School auditorium.  There are over 200 occupations in which a student who graduates from high school could apprentice including cosmetology, winemaking, electricians, plumbers, dispensing opticians, sheet metal workers, steam fitters, and telecommunications workers.  Become an apprentice and you will immediately start earning money while you are being trained on-the-job.  If you need to go to class during your training, you will be paid for each hour you attend class.  Check out this choice you have to a satisfying and well-paid career.  Come to Apprenticeship Night on the 21st and hear directly from several apprenticeship representatives about the opportunities that exist.  Bring your parents. See your counselor if you have any questions.

·         Saturday, April 25th, LVSI is hosting Project Hope, formerly the Sleep In.  Come join us from 8:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. for an evening of Capture the Flag, Minute to Win It, Karaoke, Mission Impossible, a performance by our very own Comedy Cult, and much more!  Tickets will be sold in advance only, in the mornings in the Mixing Bowl.  The cost is $5 with all proceeds benefiting the Good Shepherd Alliance to combat homelessness.

·         Congratulations to the Loudoun Valley Debate Team.  They won second place in the sweepstakes at the Regional Competition held Saturday.  In Lincoln Douglas, Sam Burridge won 3rd place with a 2-1 record, and Lizzie Manero was the runner up and had the highest speaker points out of all the LD DEBATERS. In Public Forum, Ariel Santikarma and Isabella Tucker won 2nd place with a 3-0 record, while Ian Gallagher and Noah Mussmon placed 1st with a 3-0 record.  One speaker point separated the two teams.  The debate team will be competing at states in two weeks, good luck guys!!

·         The following student athletes finished in 1st place at the Handley Invitational on Saturday – Drew Hunter – 800 meters, Ciara Donohue, 1600 meters, Kimmie Donohue – 3200 meters.  The following relay teams finished in 1st place and qualified for the 3A State Championships – 4x800 relay – Ciara Donohue, Natalie Morris, Kimmie Donohue, Rachel Snyder; 4x800 – Ian Bogucki, Colton Bogucki, Nick Mecuro, Drew Hunter: 4x100 relay – Elijah Cooper, Nathaniel Thompson, Levi Parker, Colin Vitkus; 4x400 – Levi Parker, Nathaniel Thompson, Drew Hunter, Mason Koehler

·         Loudoun Valley’s baseball team defeated Broad Run on Saturday night by the score of 7-0 as Justin Ager threw a complete game no hitter to lead the way for the Viking baseball team.  This runs the Vikings record to 5-0. Please come out and support the team.
