·        Both the boys and girls Cross Country teams won team titles at the Conference meet yesterday.  For the girls, Ciara Donohue was the individual champion setting a course record in 17:41 for the 3 mile race.  The top five Loudoun Valley girls all finished in the top seven in a truly dominant performance!  Following  Ciara’s first place finish were Rachel Snyder – 2nd, Kimmie Donohue – 4th, Natalie Morris – 5th, and Jess Kamienski – 7th.  The Loudoun Valley boys team had their top four boys finish in the top nine spots.  Following Drew Hunter’s first place finish were Colton Bogucki – 4th, Peter Morris – 8th, and Cade Kiely – 9th.

·        Congratulations go out to the Viking Volleyball teams, on their wins over Handley High School last night.  The Freshman and JV teams both swept the Judges 2 sets to none.  The Varsity followed with a convincing 3 set sweep as well. It was a great win for the team and especially for Seniors Sammy Iliff, Juli Dryden, and Hailee Goolsby who were recognized last night during the teams Senior Night celebration.

·        This past weekend, the LVHS Viking Players traveled to the Virginia Theatre Association Conference in Norfolk, VA. Their production, "The Trial of Ygor," an original adaptation of Frankenstein, received several awards: Jo Renich received 2nd place in the State playwriting competition.  Jo Renich was recognized for lighting design and execution.  Keagan Boal was recognized for sound design and execution. The cast received the "Best Ensemble" award.  The production received Overall Technical Achievement recognition.  Matt Geczy and Patrick Dahlman received State "All-Star Cast" Awards.  Charlie Trochlil, who played the title role, received the state's "Best Actor" Award.  LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, LVHS DRAMA'S PRODUCTION OF "THE TRIAL OF YGOR" WAS NAME STATE CHAMPIONS!!! The cast and crew will now take their exceptional production to the NATIONAL COMPETITION in March!!!  This win makes the Drama Department Valley's 1st team State Champs this year!  Congratulations, Viking Players!!!

·        Congratulations to the Marching Vikings on a wonderful performance at the Virginia Band and Orchestra Director’s State Marching Assessment.  The band received Superior and Excellent Ratings with an Overall rating of Excellent.  Marching Band rehearsals will be this week Wednesday and Thursday and will be ending at 5:30 p.m.  Note the time change.  Reminder of the Pep Band tonight for Volleyball report by 6:30.

·        Hey there sports fans!  Tonight the Volleyball team takes on the Handley Judges here in Leonard Gymnasium.  And it is also a special night as the volleyball community celebrates Senior Night, recognizing the contributions that the team’s seniors have made to the volleyball program.  So, grab a friend and make plans to come out this evening and help celebrate the seniors and cheer on the volleyball teams in their match against the Judges.  Freshman and JV play at 5:45 followed by the Varsity at the conclusion of the freshman and JV matches.
