Team Hercules teachers want every student to be successful in and out of the classroom and we wish to aid our students in a smooth transition to the middle school years. We hope to foster students to become active citizens in the Harmony community and beyond. Team Hercules teachers hope to guide students on their journeys to accomplishing individual goals.
1. Be respectful.
2. Be prepared.
3. Do your best.
Homework – Homework is expected on the assigned due date. If work is late, points will be deducted as determined by the subject area teacher.
Absences – If you are absent, you are expected to use the next resource time to make up assignments/tests. If absent on the due date of a project that was given in advance, it will be expected on the day you return to school. Remember to check with your teachers or on the teachers’ websites for any missed assignments. According to LCPS policy, students have one day for each day missed to make up assignments.
Agendas – Student agendas are required for ALL classes. They are used for homework, upcoming events, and are the ticket to exit the classroom for the nurse, library, and restroom facilities.
Tardy-Students are expected to be in the classroom with all supplies required for class when the bell rings.
Retake Policy-It is the teacher’s discretion to allow a student to retake an assessment. Listed below are the steps required in order to retake an assessment:
1. Prepare for the original assessment
2. Score a D or F on original assessment
3. Correct the original assessment
4. Meet with teacher during resource for remediation
5. Retake a new assessment within two weeks of receiving graded original assessment
6. Can retake assessment one time
Aside from your resource period, Team Hercules teachers are available by appointment before or after school should you need assistance. If you are planning to stay or arrive early, please notify your teacher ahead of time. If you will be staying after school, you must have a signed note from home indicating “parent pickup”. If you are arriving early, you must obtain a hall pass from your teacher the day prior to your session.
The Hercules Team Teachers can be reached through the Harmony website at http://www.lcps.org/domain/2147. Each teacher maintains a calendar of assignments on his/her website for students and parents to check in order to stay up to date on assignments. Please feel free to contact us by phone (540-751-2500), email, or through Mrs. Ginny Dehaven-Dawson, the 6th grade counselor.
