Hello!  The end is near...in more ways than one!  The school year is almost over...marking the end of a decade of making beautiful music at Dominion High School.  Our students are busy preparing for AP Exams, Finals, and the end of year POPs concert on May 23rd.  We are now looking for nominations for Board Members as well as people to fill some Coordinator roles being vacated by those parents whose students are moving on.  General "job descriptions" are available on this website under "Volunteers" so you can get an idea of what is involved for each position.  If you have any questions about anything, let us know!  dominionhsband@gmail.com

Freshmen and Sophomore parents especially:  We're really hoping to get some new faces on our Board and in our leadership roles, so if you've never seriously considered stepping it up a notch in terms of your involvement with BOPS activities, please consider doing so now.  It's been a year full of changes and great new things, and we really want you to be a part of it!  With 2-3 more years as a Band or Orchestra parent, you've got lots of time to make a real difference and provide continuity to future volunteers.  Please take a look at the Volunteer descriptions on the website and consider being a member of our Board or a Coordinator.  NOTE:  Our current Treasurer will be stepping down this year.  If you or another band or orchestra parent you know has an accounting background, please consider helping in this role.  We need you!!

Since I have been your President for the past three years and our new By Laws (and ATLAS By Laws) include a 3-year consecutive term limit in the same Board position, I will be stepping down at the end of the school year.  It has been an absolute pleasure and a joy to work with such wonderful parents, directors and especially students the last three years (and the three years before that in various leadership roles).  I hope to continue being actively involved with BOPS, the Instrumental Music Program, and our wonderful band and orchestra students for the next four years as my youngest daughter starts her freshmen year at Dominion this fall.  I look forward to continued growth of our BOPS organization under new, energetic and enthusiastic leadership next year.  The band and orchestra students and parents at Dominion High School are such great people to be around, so get involved!  You will never regret it, I promise you.
