Home Coming!..Any student wishing to be considered for the Court needs to turn in his or her Dance Permission Form by 9am next Wednesday, Spet. 24th.

Career Center:  Wolverines, are you looking for some volunteer hours?  Stop by the Career Center today.  Volunteers are needed for 2 upcoming events, the LCPS College Fair on September 28th and the Waterford Fair on October 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

Peer Tutoring:  Are you a Jr. or Sr. that has a cumulative average of 3.25?  Have a talent in a core content area or World Language?  Then we need you to be a Peer Tutor!  Earn volunteer service hours and help out a peer.  Applications are due by September 30th to Mrs. Cummings.  Applications are available in the School Counseling Office, or the Main Office.  You will need a teacher recommendation, a copy of your GPA, and a copy of your latest report card.

Pre-Season wrestling practices will begin next week. They will be on Mondays & Wednesdays until November. See Coach Fortney with any questions in #503.

College visits are starting up in the Career Center:  Fri, UVA @ 10:45am.  If you are interested in attending sign up in Naviance or stop by the Career Center for a pass. 

There will be a meeting of the National Honor Society on Friday at the beginning of Open Lunch in the auditorium.

SCA-   The class Spirit Packs and T-Shirts are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow morning during HR. Thank you for your support!  

Tomorrow afternoon is our Fall Pep Rally. Everyone is encouraged to wear your class color. Check out the page on the SCA website for details about the class competition. 

Class Officers and SCA Senators are reminded of the meeting TODAY after school in L516 immediately after dismissal.

Finally we are pleased to announce that at last Friday’s General Assembly Meeting, Habitat for Humanity was selected as sour school charity of the year. Be looking for opportunities to become involved in this worthwhile charity.

Ø  If you have not signed up yet for the Lit. Mag Club, you may still do so during flex homeroom today in #603!

    • Any student who is interested in becoming a DECA officer this year needs to stop by Mrs. Hobbs room to receive a packet today before leaving.  Candidates must have been a member of DECA last year and be able to attend the meeting tomorrow at 8:15am.  Any DECA member interested in voting should plan to attend tomorrow

The WHS Golf Team on their most recent match on August 27th.  They defeated both PFHS and PVHS by 13 strokes in a 9 hole tournament.  Low scorers for WHS included, Jack Klimack with a 36, and Michael Briel with a 39.
 
The Varsity VB Team won over Washington HS last night.Leading the Wolverines was Samatha Purnell with 12 points and 10 kills.  Jineane Hallaj added 5 points and 3 aces along with 6 kills.  Outstanding defense by Jessica Hornyak, Angela Yost, Dorothy Dimitreau and Lexi Waldman.  Great Job Team!
The JV VB Team defeated Washington in 2 sets- 25-15 and 25-12.  Outstanding play by Emily Haak, Carolyn Cain, Ashton Marquart and Katelyn Hornyak.

Congratulations to the FR & V Volleyball Team on their win over Freedom last night.  The JV team lost a very hard fought match in 3 sets.
