I meet with students in grades 1-5 throughout the school year. Each class will meet with me once a week for 50 minutes. Students are encouraged to incorporate their personal experiences, imagination, and ideas in their artwork. In elementary art, students will explore various forms of art making. We will make art using drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, and printmaking materials. The art materials used in school are non-toxic and are usually washable. Try to avoid wearing really nice clothes on art days.
Please feel free to contact me at any time throughout the year with questions or concerns!
I grew up in Fairfax County and graduated from James Madison University with a BS in Art and a K-12 Art Teaching License. I started teaching at multiple elementary schools in Fairfax County. This is my third year teaching art and my second year in Loudoun County. Last year I was an art itinerant teaching at Hutchison Farm ES, Legacy ES, and Buffalo Trail ES. I love to draw and screen-print. I also enjoy spending my time rock climbing, hiking, and watering plants.
