Art News: Due to the snow days in third quarter some classes in each grade level are ahead/behind other classes. Projects by grade level varies. Trying my best to catch them all up!
It'll be updated periodically.
From students requests I posted some links students might be interested in creating on their own. Questions on how to re-create or where to find materials will be posted under FAQ.

*This year with so many students enrolled- Some classes are being taught by another licensed art teacher, Abby Luckenbaugh. She can be contacted at Abby.Luckenbaugh@lcps.org

I meet with students in grades 1-5 and also full day kindergarten throughout the school year. Each class will meet with me once a week for 50 minutes. Students are encouraged to incorporate their personal experiences, imagination, and ideas in their artwork. In elementary art, students will explore various forms of art making. We will make art using drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, and printmaking materials. The art materials used in school are non-toxic and are usually washable. Please try to avoid wearing really nice clothes on art days.

Please feel free to contact me at any time throughout the year with questions or concerns!

 Background

I grew up in Fairfax County and graduated from James Madison University with a BS in Art and a K-12 Art Teaching License. I started teaching at multiple elementary schools in Fairfax County before switching to Loudoun County. I have been teaching since 2012. I love to draw and screen-print.  I also enjoy spending my time rock climbing, hiking, traveling and watering plants.

I am excited to meet new and familiar faces this school year!
