Meet Mrs. Kuntz

Hi! My name is Kristin Kuntz, and I am very excited to be starting my third year at Lovettsville Elementary. Before coming to Lovettsville, I taught for three years at Sycolin Creek Elementary and for five years at Waterford Elementary. I have taught one year of second grade and 8 years of fifth grade.  This is my second year as a math resource teacher.  I received my BS in Elementary Education from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania.  I also earned my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Instructional Technology from George Mason University. I have attended Boeing's Space Camp for Educators, and I also had the privilege to participate in Northrop Grumman's Weightless Flights of Discovery where I flew in zero gravity! I also enjoy traveling, and I've been lucky enough to travel to England, Ireland, Wales, Australia, and China with a student ambassador program.

As a math resource teacher, my job is to support math instruction in the classroom.  I do this by:
  • Planning math lessons with teachers;
  • Modeling and co-teaching math lessons in the classroom;
  • Consulting with classroom teachers on math remediation and enrichment;
  • Assisting in the classroom with math activities;
  • Creating strategies for implementing technology into math instruction; and by
  • Providing opportunities to recognize and celebrate math.
