* The American College of Sports Medicine recommends a minimum of 30 minutes of aerobic activity 4-5 days per week. This year at Round Hill Elementary we want to encourage all of our students and families to increase their amount of exercise. To meet this challenge we are offering the Round Hill Elementary Fitness Challenge
* On the calandar we want you to write down your aerobic activities for the day that total 30 minutes. Since it is getting colder outside we have provided you with an other option. We still want you to try and play outside for 30 minutes, but if the weather is not cooperating each day has a different activity for you to perform by your self, with a friend, or with your family. Or, you, your friends, or family can create other fun ways to exercise or play inside on those cold days to achieve 30 minutes of physical activity.
* At the end of the month students turn in this sheet, to Mr. Turrill, if they have exercised 30 minutes a day, five days a week, every week of the month. Parents must sign to validate the sheet. All participants who complete 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week, every day of the month will have their names posted on the Physical Education bulletin board and have his or her name announced during the morning announcements. All successful participants will have their name placed in a drawing for special monthly prizes to be called out during the morning announcements.
* Extra calendars can be picked up on the Physical Education bulletin board and/or on the diplay rack outside the office.
Every month we will be looking at a different food from the fruit and vegetable groups. We will discuss these foods over the morning announcement, posted on the physical education bulletin board, and our classes will create posters for our foods.
