Welcome to Room 24!
I am very happy to be returning to Mill Run Elementary School, as a 5th grade teacher, for the 2012-2013 school year. I graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1985 with a Bachelors Degree in Art Education. During the 2005-2006 school year I completed the courses that are required by the State of VA for an Elementary School Certificate.  In May of 2010 I obtained my Masters Degree in Instructional Technology and Curriculum from George Mason University.

I reside in Haymarket with my husband and children. We are an active family and enjoy our quality time together. During this time we enjoy Baseball Games, boating and outdoor activities at Lake Anna.

I look forward to our journey together as we embark on a fun and challenging curriculum!  I hope to inspire my students to achieve the best possible results in a creative, kind and loving environment. Your children will be exposed to an array of technology this year as we master deep problem solving, critical thinking and the fifth grade curriculum.

This year we will be needing some additional supplies in the classroom.  Due to the amount of collaborative learning and technology use I have found it beneficial for your son or daughter to have a flash drive and lanyard that we can keep here at school.  This will enable us to share files and to keep you updated on the projects that we are working on.  We will also need one five subject notebook for our interactive notebook in Science. Twistables, a zippered pencil pouch and 4 tennis balls with a 1 inch by 1 inch cross cut into them are also items that will assist us in the classroom this year.

I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your son or daughter!  Should you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me!
