It is hard to believe but we are almost at the end of the 2012-2013 school year.  There are a number of special events scheduled for the end of the school year:

May 30^th – Our fifth grade students will challenge the staff in the annual volleyball game. The fifth graders are hoping to pull off a victory this year.

May 31^st – Field Day This is a school wide event that students look forward to each year.  We are still calling for volunteers as our goal is to have 30 volunteers for this event. Ms. Olshavsky is coordinating volunteers for this event.

June 4^th  - Is our last Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Schoolwide Assembly – each class is working hard to earn Lucketts Loot .  The Lucketts Loot goal for each class to attend the last PBIS program was $5000.00 per class.  We are very fortunate that our PTA sponsors the assemblies throughout the school year.  This last program is Reptiles Alive.  Students will have an opportunity to see and get up close and personal with different reptiles.   Definitely a high interest program.

June 5^th – 5^th Grade Transition Ceremony  While we don’t say the “G” word (Graduation), we do bid a fond farewell to our rising middle school students as they end their elementary school career.

June 6^th – End of the Year Awards Program, Fifth Grade Celebration, and Last day of School.  The End of the Year Awards Program should start approximately 8:30AM.  Students in grades 1-5 will have an opportunity for recognition for achievement and effort.  Following the End of the Year Awards Program, our Rising Sixth Grade Students will enjoy their last day in elementary school at the Fifth Grade Celebration. 

Lucketts Elementary is celebrating “Moms in May”

This May we are excited to be celebrating our Lucketts Elementary moms.  When visitors enter the building beautiful “mom clouds” and “mom flowers” adorn the hallways.  We are also featuring our  Fantastic Moms on the WLUC News show.  A couple of quotes from our Lucketts Moms:

Favorite thing about volunteering at Lucketts ES: “Getting to know the kids and being a part of our community.”   “My kids love it when they see mom in their school helping.”  “I love that it makes them happy.”  “I love being in the classroom and interacting with the students”.

Check out the pictures of the “Mom Clouds” and “Mom Flowers” on the website.  We have our WatchDOGS on Wednesday, but we have our fantastic moms helping in many ways throughout the week all year long.   Thank you for all that you do for our school!
