GuidanceGroups Offered

 

The following groups may be offered during the school year.

 

Banana Splits -The groups for Grades 4-5 will meet every other week for eight weeks. Grades1-3 will meet every other week throughout the school year. The groups meetingsare held during the student’s lunchtime. The group is for students who haveexperienced parental separation, divorce, remarriage, or students who areliving in a single parent household. Topics may also include (depending onparticipants’ circumstances) absent parents, visitation, and blended families. [oNGOING]

  

Stress FRee andOrganized Students (SOS) - This group is to help provide copingstrategies for students feeling stressed with organization and other schoolrelated issues.  [oCT 15 – nOV 30]

  

Getting AlongTogether (GAT) - This group is designed to help children with socialskills for making and maintaining friends. Students will practice skills insocial situations, including help in resolving conflicts in a peaceful way. [dEC 3 – jAN 25]

  

Kids in Control(KIC) - This group focuses on practicing self-control, positive decisionmaking skills, and anger management techniques. We will discuss anger triggers,effects of anger and stress on the body, as well as positive strategies to dealwith these situations. [fEB 4 – mAR 15]

 

 Marvelous Me - Thisgroup focuses on helping children build their self-esteem and confidence. [mAR 18 – mAY 3]
