SECOND GRADE
TEACHERS
Mrs. Hampton | Mrs. Fuller |
Mrs. Moore | Mrs. Laybourne |
The third nine weeks has been successfully completed. Report cards are sent home on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.
In math, we will continue giving weekly timed tests to encourage quick recall of basic addition and subtraction facts. By the end of the school year, each student will be expected to have mastered all basic addition and subtraction facts. For extra practice at home, here are two great websites we have found: http://www.aplusmath.com and www.xtramath.com. Students will also be studying graphing, time, and measurement.
Second graders will begin their study of economics, Mexico and Canada in social studies.
In science, we will finish our unit on weather, and investigate/discuss the life cycles of plants, insects, and mammals.
