Every parent or family member can make a difference at Hillsboro. Help is needed in the classroom and outside of the classroom. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering.
VOLUNTEERS: Your time counts! Please take a moment (or drop me an email if you are working at home for the school and can't get to the volunteer book) to sign in and out your volunteer time. In addition to letting the County know how much our volunteers do for the school, we would like to let you know how much this valuable time adds up!
Volunteers working in the schools are required by State Law to have a certificate from the local health department stating that they have been screened or tested and appear to be free of communicable Tuberculosis (TB). Once this certificate is obtained, it remains valid in subsequent years (assuming there has been no known threat of exposure). Copies of the certificate must be kept on file at the school. The certificate is valid when transferring to another Loudoun County School.
Volunteers needing to be screened can go to the Loudoun County Health Department at 102 Heritage Way NE, Suite 100, Leesburg
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00am-11:00 am and 1:00 - 3:00 pm
Volunteers may wish to have their family physician conduct the screening. In these cases, please make sure that TB screening forms are available at the doctor's office and that the doctor is willing to provide this service.
Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to volunteer. Completed TB forms should be turned into Mr. Michener.
