Al Faraone

He received his Bachelors Degree from the City University of New York and his Masters Degree in the Science of Education from Iona College. He taught in Brooklyn, The Bronx, and Westchester County. In 1979 he joined United Airlines as an instructor. He moved from New York to Virginia in 1991. He kept his ties to the school system as a member of the Loudoun County School-Business Partnership through which he worked with students as a mentor. After retiring from United, he accepted a position teaching special education at Stone Bridge High School in 2004.

 
This year he will teach English 10,11, 12, U. S. History 11, American Government 12, and Basic Skills. These classes are taught using the Socratic Method. His students formulate their own questions and seek their own answers. Questioning is open ended and closed questioning (multiple choice/true false) is minimized. Intensive writing and reading is encouraged.  

Mr. Faraone is the co-sponsor of the Stone Bridge Chess Club and the co-chair of the Equity Team.
