The Attendance Secretary will make every effort to inform parents of a student’s absence. The school must have correct telephone numbers for both home and work. If either telephone number changes, please notify the guidance office at 571.434.3204 immediately. An “information change form” should be picked up from and returned to the guidance office.
ABSENCES
There are circumstances that may prevent a student’s attendance in school. Absences, when justifiable, that may be classified as excused absences are the following:
1. Personal illness
2. Death in the family
3. Medical or dental appointments
4. Court appearances
5. Religious holidays
6. Trips and activities that enhance or extend the student’s education, when approved in advance by the principal.
For an absence to be considered excused the parent must:

2. Send a written excuse upon the student’s return to school.
If the parent does not call the day of the absence or send a note upon the student’s return to school following an absence, the student’s absence is unexcused which may result in disciplinary action.
EXCESSIVE ABSENCES: If a student accumulates 10 or more absences through the entire school year, the administration may require medical verification for any future absences to be excused.
ABSENTEE CALL-IN LINE: For the convenience of parents, a 24-hour attendance line (571.434.3202) is available to notify the school of an absence.
