From the Principal's Desk...

As we complete the first quarter, please join me in celebrating all your children have learned in just nine weeks. Routines have been well established in the classrooms to maximize instructional time, just as you have established homework routines to balance extracurricular activities and family time in your homes.

The month ahead will find everyone at Belmont Station very involved with a number of special activities.  To begin November, many parents will participate in conferences as part of the first quarter assessment process.  On November  12th our students will be bringing home their report cards.   Students in grades four and five who achieve all A’s will find an Academic Excellence certificate in their report cards and students who earn A’s with no more than two B’s will find one for Academic Achievement.
Third, fourth and fifth graders are encouraged and expected to be aware of the importance of academic performance and yes, grades.  It is part of preparing them for the transition into secondary school.

Please know we do not have these same expectations for our younger learners. It is our hope they will still be focusing on being well behaved, happy, successful, and doing their personal BeST in school. All children should be reassured by their parents that they are doing well and that everyone is proud of their achievements.

During November 17th through November 21st, Belmont Station students and staff will celebrate American Education Week. Parents and friends are invited to visit the classrooms and watch education in progress. Many activities are planned for the week and a separate American Education Week calendar is attached. Please keep in mind that you will still be required to sign in as school visitors therefore, please plan ahead for time sensitive presentations by the children. We would not want you to miss a single special minute of this very exciting week.

BeST,
Lori
