Welcome To Ms. Rudd's
Ms. Rudd has been teaching Elementary School for 15 years. This is her eleventh year at Ashburn Elementary. Cara has a Masters degree in Integrating Technology in Education. She has a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education, English, Language Arts and Planned Education. She is currently working on her doctorate degree in educational leadership, administration. Prior to teaching in Ashburn, Virginia she taught at the American International School in Cape Town, South Africa. Ms. Rudd is from Tecumseh, Michigan where she worked for the Tecumseh Public Schools teaching and coaching swimming and diving for middle school and high school. Ms. Rudd’s family is very important to her, but her dog North who traveled with her from Cape Town to Virginia is very special to her. Besides her love of her dog North Ms. Rudd is also an avid swimmer with the Master's Swim program of Virginia. She has a love for open water swimming. The biggest long distance swim she completed was The Alcatraz Sharkfest swim in San Francisco, California this past June. Ms. Rudd has also endured swimming the Potomac for the Enviroiment 7.5 mile swim. She has also completed the Chesapeake Bay 4.4 open water swim three times. As well as Coastal Crawl Lake Michigan located in Harbor Springs Michigan. She is also an avid cyclist and temperamental runner. To keep up the energy to run, and swim Ms. Rudd is devoted to keeping herself very healthy. However, her day wouldn't be complete without her coffee.
