This will be Ms. Labuhn's twelfth year of teaching Science in Loudoun County. She has been teaching a total of thirty-five years throughout the world. Ms. Labuhn graduated from Wayne State University and started her teaching career in Michigan before working for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DoDDS) overseas. She taught for DoDDS twenty years and lived in three countries before moving back to the United States. Ms. Labuhn's experiences include kindergarten through eighth grade, as well as, combination classes in isolated locations. During her tenure, she taught reading, ESL, English, and Science in middle school grades. Ms. Labuhn attended a "Zero G" flight on September 13, 2007. The flight was sponsored by Northrop Grumman. Its title was "Weightless Flights of Discovery," and Northrop Grumman's message was that Math, Science and Space exploration provide an ideal venue for inspiring students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. Space exploration provides the ideal platform for enhancing scientific understanding of our universe. This experience will be shared with her students to inspire America's future.
