Comics Club

Sponsor: Mr. Quirin

The Comics Club is the only opporunity for students at PFHS to gain experience in the field of writing and/or drawing comic strips as a cartoonist. The point of the club is NOT TO DISCUSS ABOUT COMICS. It's TO MAKE COMICS. The club is for people who are good at writing comedy, but who may not be good at drawing. And it's for people who are good at drawing, but they may not be good at writing comedy. The club then gets those people together to play off each other's strengths and create comic strips, and if they have completed enough in time, the comic strips then get sent to the school newspaper for publishing.

This club is a great way of expressing your humorous side and your artistic side while having a fun social time with other members. All new members are welcome to join. If you just have one comic strip idea that you would like to be submitted to the newspaper, please submit to us first and we'll try to get it published.

Thursdays after school - Only the illustrators come to these meetings. They meet in Mr. Q's room (229). There, they recieve the comic strips that the editor accepted on Tuesday and their job is to add background, (funny) facial expressions, etc. to help the writers that can't draw and to help the strips to express humor better.

Fridays before school - All club members attend this meeting to discuss progress in room 226 at 8:30AM. If someone is unable to make certain meetings, and to hear a word of encouragement from their President and Sponsor.
