Mrs. Heather Cox is thrilled to begin her fourth year in the science department at Dominion High School. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech, with a B.S. degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She obtained her M.A. in Education, also from Virginia Tech. She is licensed by the state of Virginia to teach Biology, Chemistry and Earth Science in grades 6-12.
Mrs. Cox's teaching experience includes high school Biology (academic and honors), Chemistry, Earth Science (academic and honors) and Environmental Explorations, 7th grade Life Science in Fairfax County as well as Earth Science and Biology at Notre Dame Academy (now Middleburg Academy) in Middleburg. This year at Dominion, Mrs. Cox will be teaching Academic and Honors Biology.
Mrs. Cox is married with two very active sons, Patrick, a Titan in 11th grade and Jacob, a 7th grader at River Bend Middle School. She is very excited to be a part of the Titan community!
Dissection Policy: Students enrolled in life science courses may participate in animal dissection. Students who decline to participate will be offered alternatives to dissection. A student’s objection to participating in an animal dissection should be substantiated by a signed note from his or her parent or legal guardian.
