This is Mrs. Kim's seventh year at Seneca Ridge. For the 2015-2016 school year, she is again excited to teach Math to 6th Graders! Mrs. Kim has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and is certified to teach grades K-8. She has taught in the states of Texas and Virginia. This is her 10th year in teaching.
Mrs. Kim and her family live in South Riding. She has three sons (one at the College of William & Mary, one at Virginia Tech Engineering, and one in high school). When time allows, she enjoys hosting and cooking for friends and family, playing a good game of Scrabble, or going to her sons' activities: Boy Scouts, tennis, lacrosse, piano recitals, classical guitar concerts, and band concerts. This summer, Mrs. Kim and her family enjoyed traveling to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland! She is looking forward to having a hard-working and successful school year together!
"Grit is passion and perseverance for very long-term goals. Grit is having stamina. Grit is sticking with your future, day in, day out, not just for the week, not just for the month, but for years, and working really hard to make that future a reality. Grit is living life like it's a marathon, not a sprint." -Angela Lee Duckworth
