Parents of students in kindergarten through fifth grade are needed to serve on the Elementary Report Card Revision Committee. The committee will begin work in November and work through April 2008 to revise the current LCPS report cards for grades K-5.
The committee will review current research on report cards, view sample report cards from surrounding school systems and analyze input from teachers and parents before working in grade-level subcommittees to revise the current LCPS report card. Committee revisions will be submitted to the superintendent in April 2008 for his consideration.
A commitment from all committee members to attend all scheduled meetings is needed as we embark on this important endeavor:

Since the report card is a teacher’s most formal communication with parents and is meant to convey a child’s progress in a variety of areas, its development is of the utmost importance. If you are interested in serving on the revision committee, please contact the Office of Elementary Education at (571) 252-1290 on or before Monday, November 5th. You will be asked to provide the following information: parent’s name; child’s name, school, and grade level; daytime phone number; e-mail address; and home mailing address. Interested parents may also send the requested information to:
Dr. Mike Martin, Director of Elementary Education
